Under the impetus of the Ministry of Culture, the first administration to obtain both labels Equality and Diversity in autumn 2017, 16 public institutions under its supervision have been awarded the label Diversity awarded by the AFNOR: indeed, five new establishments - the Centre des Monuments nationaux, the Cité de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris, the École nationale supérieure d'art de Paris-Cergy, the Opéra national de Paris and the Théâtre national de Chaillot - have joined the eleven establishments1 already certified in 2018 by AFNOR.

In 2018, seven establishments also obtained the label Equality. These are the Cité de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris, the Ecole nationale supérieure d'art de Paris-Cergy, the public establishment of the park and the great hall of La Villette, the Opéra Comique, the Opéra National de Paris, the RMN-Grand Palais and Universcience.

The International Standards Body thus recognises and welcomes the commitment of these institutions to a proactive process of continuous improvement aimed at preventing all forms of discrimination and at promoting diversity and professional equality between women and men and the men.

Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, welcomed these new labels: Our entire society aspires to greater equality and diversity, in the image of those who make it up: I want the Ministry of Culture to be at the forefront of this commitment. Our public institutions embody it with conviction, I congratulate them and I intend to act with determination so that all of our cultural policies illustrate this citizen fight against all forms of discrimination »

Each of these labels is awarded by an independent commission composed of representatives of the administration, employers and trade unions. To make their decision, these commissions have relied on in-depth audits conducted by AFNOR in each of the institutions, which will be renewed in two years and then two years later to monitor the implementation of the commitments made.

By guaranteeing them unfailing support and support, the Ministry of Culture continues to encourage its public institutions to engage in a labelization process that will lead in 2019 to new applications to AFNOR.
