Created in 1980, the AJAP competition is a promotion mechanism, intended to facilitate the access of these young professionals to professional control and resources. It is organized every two years since 2001 by the Ministry of Culture with the support of the Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine and the support of the French Institute.

It rewards projects and works that are distinguished by their seriousness, their innovative strength and their commitment, as well as those that open up new avenues for reflection on the architecture and landscape of tomorrow.

The winners, selected by a jury of professionals, will benefit for two years of a promotion campaign: travelling exhibition in France and abroad, publication, website, organization of meetings in France and Europe with the public and project owners, participation in trade fairs.

The competition is open to young architects and landscape designers without nationality requirement, under the age of 35 on 31 December 2019, who have, in France, as a designer in their own name, at least one project that has been awarded a competition or has been completed or is in progress.

Registration for the new session of the Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes (AJAP) is open on the site: https://ajap.citedelarchitecture.fr

Architects are the inventors of our daily living environment, which they know how to adapt to a changing world. The AJAP competition showcases the emerging talents of architecture, talents that tomorrow, like their elders, will export their know-how to the world and contribute to the economic and cultural influence of our country.” Franck Riester, Minister of Culture.
