The Minister of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, announces the creation of a compensation fund to support production companies faced with the interruption, postponement or abandonment of filming of flow programs (games and magazines, entertainment, documentaries and real estate programs) due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The scheme is part of the exceptional support measures implemented for the audiovisual sector, which has been hard hit by the health crisis.
This fund supports production companies for disasters occurring until April 30, 2021, on shootings carried out on the national territory and which have started or resumed as of June 1, 2020.
The aim of this scheme is to help these enterprises cope with the additional cost of the interruption, the postponement or abandonment of filming which is not covered by the insurance contract for the audiovisual programme concerned under the guarantee relating to the unavailability of persons.
The Directorate-General for Media and Cultural Industries is responsible for managing the arrangements and handling requests for assistance. In the coming days, companies will be able to submit a grant application via the online application process created for this purpose on the Ministry of Culture website. Applications can be submitted until May 31, 2021.
