The Ministry of Culture, together with the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the social ministries, launches the VaS project, which allows ministries and state operators to ensure the intermediate archiving of their data and documents, before being transferred to the National Archives.
Designed in conjunction with the archivist community, the VaS offer is the first large-scale interdepartmental service offering, using state cloud computing, the Nubo cloud of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery.
Users will be associated with ongoing improvements to the service.
Available now, this service offered by the Ministry of Culture is open to ministries, their operators and local authorities.
VaS is in line with the interdepartmental VITAM project launched in 2015. The latter led to the creation of a free electronic archiving software and the development by the National Archives of a platform to host state archives intended for unlimited preservation.
