The Ministry of Culture communicates a situation point to culture professionals following the publication of decree no. 2020-911 of 27 July 2020 amending decree no. 2020-860 of 10 July 2020 prescribing the general measures necessary to cope with the covid-19 epidemic in the territories that have emerged from the state of health emergency and in those where it was extended.

The health context implies to keep the utmost vigilance and the applicable measures provided for by the decree of 27 July 2020 remain strict.

This decree recalls the ban on gatherings of more than 5,000 people until August 31. It nevertheless provides that these gatherings may resume from 15 August, exceptionally and with prefectorial authorization, under the responsibility of the organizer and after analysis of risk factors.

The public welcome rules remain unchanged. For any show (except Guyana and Mayotte which are still in a state of sanitary emergency), the seating configuration of the audience remains the norm; the distancing of a seat between two people or groups of people coming or having booked together also remains required; finally, the mask, mandatory to enter and wander in the interior spaces, remains recommended when the spectator is seated in its place. The reception of the public for exhibition spaces and spaces for the dissemination of contemporary art remains unchanged, the wearing of masks being mandatory and physical distancing must be respected.

New information on health measures will be available at the end of August.

The Ministry of Culture welcomes the work of professional organizations and actors in the cultural sector to adapt to the health context in the different types of rooms. The Ministry continues to listen to all the actors of the cultural and creative world and will work at the start of the school year to support the cultural sector, especially the performing arts, in adapting its activities to the regulatory context.
