On the occasion of the presentation of their book for the holidays, Les Fables de La Fontaine, illustrated by Olivier Voutch, to 550 students at the Grand Palais on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, a tripartite agreement was signed by the Minister of Education and Youth, Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of Culture, Franck Riester and the President of the Reunion of National Museums – Grand Palais, Chris Dercon.

This convention strengthens the partnership between the State and the Reunion of National Museums – Grand Palais in favour of arts and cultural education in all territories, in accordance with the plan “A l'école des arts et de la culture” presented on 17 September 2018 by the two ministries so that 100% of young people in the territory have access to arts and culture.

The Convention aims to:

- contribute to the artistic, cultural and sensory education of each student, developing their artistic culture, sustainably arousing their curiosity about art and familiarising them with the world of museums;

- mobilize and participate in the training of actors concerned by the challenges of education and transmission;

- Develop and make available selected resources for their educational interest and links to school programs

The Reunion of National Museums – Grand Palais is the privileged contact of the Ministry of National Education and Youth for the development of its arts and cultural education activities in the museum sector. She accompanies teachers and their classes in their discovery of art and works, in their heritage and contemporary, popular and scholarly, national and international events.

It organizes educational activities aimed at the widest possible audience and innovates through new products (educational briefcases, books, games, MOOCs, etc.) to make art accessible to as many people as possible. To contribute to arts and cultural education, the Rmn – Grand Palais has been offering since 2017 an innovative educational tool for both local authorities and schools: Art stories at school. Articulated around multiple activities, four pedagogical briefcases develop innovative forms of learning to make children aware of art. Suitcases are already available Portrait in art intended for children from 7 years and The object in art for children from 3 years old. Two other cases are prepared on The landscape in art and The animal in art.

The Rmn – Grand Palais is the first European cultural operator. The establishment holds a unique set of know-how in the artistic and cultural field: organization of exhibitions, reception of audiences, mediation, publishing, management of museum shops, art workshops, photographic agency, acquisitions... It puts them at the service of national museums, museums in France and internationally. The Grand Palais, a Parisian historical monument located on the avenue des Champs-Élysées and a place of intense and varied cultural life, is the emblem of the institution.
