Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, in agreement with Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie region, Serge Rigal, President of the Lot department and Jean-François de Canchy, President of the association of the Maison des arts Georges et Claude Pompidou (MAGCP), gave its approval to the appointment of Thomas Delamarre to the management of this center of contemporary art of national interest, in accordance with the unanimous proposal of the jury held on 31 March 2021.

Curator at the Fondation Cartier (Paris) since 2013, where he has curated the exhibitions «Artavazd Pelechian - La Nature» (2021), «Les Saisons» (2020), «Jeunes Artistes en Europe - Les Métamorphoses» (2019), «Le Grand Orchestre des Animaux» (2016), «Diller Scofidio + Renfro - Musings on a Glass Box», «Guillermo Kuitca – Les Habitants» (2014), Thomas Delamarre graduated from the Ecole du Louvre (2016) and the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre, Paris/Lyon (1998) in the administration of the structures of the performing arts.

Entitled «A House, Territories to Share», his multidisciplinary project aims to pursue the European dimension of the MAGCP and strengthen the citizen role of the art centre, notably through programming including new collaborations.

To affirm the presence of the MAGCP in the heart of the department of Lot and the Occitanie region, it wishes to strengthen the links with actors in the field – agricultural, industrial, associative – in order to reflect on contemporary uses of the landscape, and to develop an artistic research center on the issues that animate society at the time of the ecological transition.

Building on the values of territory and living relationships, Thomas Delamarre proposes new formats of residence and research in a European dimension. His demand for sharing art, knowledge, his marked interest in public commissions, artistic intervention in rural areas and his understanding of local issues won out the jury’s choice.

Thomas Delamarre succeeds Martine Michard, whose Minister of Culture, the President of the Occitanie region, the President of the Lot department and the President of the Maison des arts Georges and Claude Pompidou, wish to salute the tireless action taken by the management of the art centre. Its commitment to the most up-to-date creation has made it possible to promote the CAJARC and to include it in a national and European network serving artists and the public.
