On the proposal of Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, the President of the Republic appointed Paul de Sinety General Delegate to the French language and languages of France of the Ministry of Culture, in the Council of Ministers of 14 November 2018.

Paul de Sinety has served in particular as director of the book and knowledge department at Culturesfrance and then at the French Institute, as deputy cultural advisor at the French embassy in Rabat, and Commissioner General of the French Pavilion at the 2017 Frankfurt Book Fair, for which France was the guest of honour.

Co-author of a report on «La promotion en France des créateurs et des auteurs issus des mondes francophones» in June 2018, he was also in charge of a mission to prefigure the États généraux du livre francophone in May 2018.

Since 2018, he has been in charge of the general curation of the permanent exhibition on the French language, as part of the Villers-Cotterêts project.

Paul de Sinety’s mission will be to put the French language at the heart of cultural policies in France and abroad.

Paul de Sinety succeeds Loïc Depecker, whose Minister welcomes the action taken since 2015 at the head of the delegation.
