Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, in full agreement with the Board of Directors of the public institution of cultural cooperation and local authorities, gave his approval to the appointment of Laurent Sellier as director of Bords 2 Scènes.

The jury was composed of representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the president and members of the board of directors of the institution representing the city of Vitry-Le-François and the Regional Council of the Great East as well as qualified personalities from the cultural world.

A composer and sound artist, Laurent Sellier has been active in the world of music for almost 25 years, from the Muse en Circuit, a collective of contemporary composers where he will assume the direction of projects and pedagogy until 2007, then as artistic director and designer-sound director of the live show for various structures (Festival d'Avignon, Francofolies de la Rochelle, Césaré, Ensemble Ars Nova, Compagnie Miczzaj, CDN de Thionville, Scènes et territoires en Lorraine, Musée Géo Charles, to name a few). In 2015, he joined the Centre de Formation d'Apprentis des Métiers du Spectacle (IMMS, Friche Belle de Mai/Marseille) to manage the sections of stage managers, concerned to develop a pedagogy in line with the evolution of the technical professions of the live show.

His project for Bords 2 Scènes is based on an ambitious approach, wishing to federate all musical genres, from contemporary music to contemporary music. He also wants to expand the musical field to the practice of sound and narrative theatre and thus decline new artistic expressions by relying on the two stages of the establishment. He will engage a strong reflection on training, animation, teaching sound techniques, on the identity of the place, relying on his teams, to contribute to the development and success of his project.

His project aims to make Bords 2 Scènes a place of sharing, exchanges, living together and transmission to the greatest number where the music and all the expressions of the live show are made.

He will take up his duties on 1er september 2019.
