Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, has decided to appoint Emmanuel Tibloux as director of ENSAD, École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs de Paris. He will take up his duties on 28 July 2018.

Emmanuel Tibloux has been Director of the Ecole nationale supérieure des Beaux-arts de Lyon since 2011. A former student of the École normale supérieure de Fontenay-Saint-Cloud and holder of a DEA in modern literature, he has directed the École supérieure d'art et de design in Saint-Etienne, the Regional School of Fine Arts in Valencia and the Institut français in Bilbao. He was president of Andea (National Association of Art Colleges) from 2009 to 2017.

Emmanuel Tibloux’s project for the ENSAD will take into account the specificities of this school of excellence which welcomes more than 600 students per year. It plans to implement an ambitious strategy in the fields of pedagogy of the school, its international policy and research development. It will pay particular attention to issues of equality and diversity and will continue the important work undertaken by its predecessor in terms of the governance of the establishment and the evolution of staff status.

Emmanuel Tibloux will succeed Marc Partouche whose Minister wishes to commend the remarkable action he has carried out for the benefit of the school since 2014 with the wise support of Isabelle de Ponfilly, President of the Board of Directors of the ENSAD and Director General of Vitra France
