Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, Minister of Culture, in agreement with Doriane Bécue, Mayor of Tourcoing, Xavier Bertrand, President of the Regional Council of Hauts-de-France and Christian Poiret, President of the Departmental Council of the North, gives its approval to the Association La Passerelle for the appointment of Elise Vanderhaegen as director of the current-SMAC music scene, Le Grand Mix, in accordance with the proposal of the jury meeting on September 20, 2021.

After a master’s degree in Direction and design of cultural projects, Elise Vanderhaegen joined in 2012 the company «A gauche de la lune» in Lille where she held the position of production manager, administrative manager and project director and co-director. Since 2021, she was co-director in charge of the administration and cooperation of the ARA «Autour des Rythmes Actuels», a structure to accompany current music practices in Roubaix.

Elise Vanderhaegen’s project promotes support and action for emerging artists and the local scene. Elise Vanderhaegen proposes to better anchor the place in digital issues to implement a new relationship with the public and to offer new artistic proposals. It will develop transdisciplinary partnerships with the many cultural structures of the territory. It aims to address societal issues related to inclusion, gender equality and sustainable development, working on local practices and their impact.

Elise Vanderhaegen will take office no later than January 1, 2022. She will succeed Boris Colin, who led Le Grand Mix from 2008 to 2021, whose remarkable work the Minister praises, This project was carried out at the service of the development of a cultural structure that is now nationally recognized for its major commitment to supporting new talent.
