Rima Abdul Malak, Minister of Culture, has appointed Christine DIACON as regional director of cultural affairs of Centre-Val-de-Loire. Christine DIACON will take up her duties on 1er december 2022.
Holding a master’s degree in classics and a DEA in ancient studies, Christine DIACON began her career as a certified professor of classics before entering the Ministry of Culture in 1991, following her success in the competition of administrative attaché. Assigned to the Centre’s Regional Cultural Affairs Directorate, she successively held the position of General Affairs Officer for the regional conservation of historic monuments, in charge of cross-sectoral affairs in the field of cultural action and artistic creation, head of the department of financial, budgetary and accounting affairs and then secretary general of the directorate. In 2007, she became Deputy Regional Director until 2019. She was then appointed to the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional cultural affairs directorate as deputy regional director responsible for heritage and architecture.
With her solid experience in the decentralized services of the Ministry of Culture and her perfect knowledge of the Centre-Val-de-Loire region, Christine DIACON will have for mission, under the authority of the prefect of region, to steer and animate all the public policies carried out by the Ministry of Culture, in close liaison with other State departments, local authorities and all cultural actors.
The Minister sends her best wishes to Christine DIACON and wishes to warmly thank Fabrice MORIO, admitted to assert her rights to retirement, for his actions at the head of this regional management since September 2018 and for Laetitia de MONICAULT, who has been acting since September 2022.
