Franck Riester, Minister of Culture, in full agreement with Norbert Meler, Mayor of Foix, Henri Nayrou, President of the Departmental Council of Ariège, Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie region, and Jean-Claude Torrecillas, President of the Association pour le développement et l'action culturelle de Foix et de l'Ariège, approves the appointment of Carole Albanese to the direction of the Estive, national stage of Foix and the Ariège, on the proposal of the jury gathered on 1er february 2019.

Carole Albanese’s project for the Estive aims to present works that reflect the current state of artistic creation in terms of live performance, in its various forms, cinema and visual arts, through a programming attentive to diversity, gender parity, and childhood and youth, especially adolescents.

It reaffirms for the Estive its role of support and accompaniment of creators at all stages of their career by establishing a regular association of artists through residencies shared with other structures of the department, creating what Carole Albanese calls a "Cordée poétique", a chain of solidarity bringing together artists, cultural institutions and people around creation.

Making hospitality the heart of a project she wants to bring together, she also intends to develop an annual artistic and cultural mediation program aimed at everyone and enriching the paths of spectators.

Carole Albanese was artistic co-director of the Quinconces-L'Espal, Le Mans national stage, after having been administrator of the Centre de recherche et de composition chorégraphiques of the Royaumont Foundation and then secretary general of the Atelier de Paris-Carolyn Carlson. She succeeds Michel Pintenet, who died suddenly on 17 November, whose memory the Minister wishes to salute.
