Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the European Heritage Days offer, for the 38th year, the opportunity for all audiences to discover the richness and variety of real estate and furniture heritage (civil, religious, archaeological, industrial, maritime, military, landscaped heritage, etc.) and participate in many activities organized on this unique occasion (workshops for children, games, exhibitions, concerts, meetings and exchanges with professionals...).
This must-attend cultural event of the new school year is also an opportunity to make known the action of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with local authorities and public owners, to make known, protect, conserve, restore and enhance heritage.

Finally, these days are a privileged moment to discover, exceptionally, buildings usually closed to the public, including many places of power in Paris and in the regions (ministries, embassies, prefectures, etc.).
This year, two themes will be highlighted: heritage for all and railway heritage.
In preview, Friday, September 17, the operations «Raise your eyes», conducted jointly by the Ministry of National Education, Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Culture, and «Children of Heritage», a system initiated by the National Federation of Architectural, Urban and Environmental Councils (CAUE), will once again be an opportunity to raise awareness among school children about the importance of culture and heritage education.
