Every year in March, around the world, the French language is celebrated during the Semaine de la langue française et de la Francophonie. It offers the general public the opportunity to celebrate the French language by showing their attachment to it and by celebrating its richness and diversity.
From 17 to 25 March 2018, the word will be the theme of this next edition, it will allow to debate, to express oneself in public, to transmit, to recount, to mobilize the voice, the tone and the accent.
By inviting the general public and all the actors of the event, French alliances, French institutes and foreign cultural centers, partner cities and villages, bookshops and libraries, schools and associations, theatres and museums… This week will examine the multiple uses of speech.
During this Week, organized around the International Day of La Francophonie on March 20, 2018, more than 1,500 events will take place around the world to celebrate and bring to life the richness and diversity of the French language.
A privileged opportunity for word lovers of all ages and backgrounds to take part in these events, including on social networks using the hashtag #SLFF18.
