Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture and Communication, in full agreement with Jean-Luc Moudenc, President of Toulouse Métropole and Carole Delga, President of the Occitanie Regional Council, has approved the appointment of Galin Stoev as director of the Centre dramatique national de Toulouse.
Galin Stoev wants to give the Théâtre National de Toulouse a strong impetus for supporting young artists by creating the CUB, a creative incubator. He plans to involve artists in his project from the first year.
Attentive to the young public, curious about the encounter with other performing arts, Galin Stoev conceives the Théâtre National de Toulouse as an attractive and welcoming place to live in touch with his territory and listening to his artistic teams.
Of Belgian and Bulgarian nationality, Galin Stoev presented his creations on the largest European stages. In France, he was welcomed at the Comédie-Française or the Théâtre de la Colline, moving from one language to another, from the French classical repertoire to the texts of contemporary Italian or Russian authors.
He will take up his duties on 1er january 2018. He will succeed Laurent Pelly and Agathe Mélinand, whom the Minister would like to thank for the hard work they have accomplished over these ten years.
