Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, welcomes the unanimous proposal of the jury for the appointment of Florence Alibert as conductor of the Orchestre national de Lorraine (ONL) – Cité musicale-Metz, in full agreement with Philippe Richert, President of the Grand-RegionEast and Dominique Gros, mayor of Metz. It will thus study with benevolence the application for approval sent to it by the structure, after validation of this appointment by its board of directors.

Based on a program of artists and works with diverse aesthetics, designed to bring together all audiences and carry an ambitious arts education project, Florence Alibert is also entrusted to this end the direction of the Arsenal, the Boîte à musique and the Trinitaires, which, with the ONL, constitute the project of the Cité musicale de Metz. It will also have the mission to develop the influence of the ONL in the territory of the new Grand Est region with the support of the Regional Council and at the national and international levels.

A graduate of HEC, with a DEA in Economics of Culture and Communication, Florence Alibert began her professional life in 1996 at Ubisoft, a French video game leader and director of the Italian subsidiary and development studios until 2004. She then joined the Orchestre de Paris out of passion for the music she played as an amateur. She will be Director of Audiences, Communication and Philanthropy, and will jointly take over the direction of the Cultural Action Service. She is currently Director General of the Palazzetto Bru Zane – Centre for French Romantic Music in Venice.
