Tomas Tranströmer left us on March 26. He was 83 years old.

Nobel Prize winner in literature in 2011, Tomas Tranströmer will remain as one of the great names of contemporary Swedish poetry, a lover of words whose French public had been able to discover the work thanks to the beautiful translations that had already given, nearly 20 years ago, the Castor astral and then the Gallimard editions.

A graduate in psychology, Tomas Tranströmer had long worked with the handicapped, prisoners and drug addicts, with as much discretion as efficiency. The man of letters was also a man of heart.
