Fleur Pellerin, Minister of Culture and Communication, confirms the award of the label «national scene» to the association Union Châteauvallon-Liberté which brings together the Centre National de Création et de Diffusion Culturelles Châteauvallon and the Théâtre Liberté de Toulon
Identified as one of the commitments of the cultural pact that the Minister of Culture and Communication had signed in Toulon on 23 April 2015 with Hubert Falco, President of the Communauté d'Agglomération Toulon Provence Méditerranée,the award of this label recognizes the approach of the directors of these two structures whose artistic activities together meet the requirements of a national scene. By meeting under a contract of associations, they were able to grasp the perspectives offered by their geographical proximity in the territory of the Toulon Provence Mediterranean Agglomeration and the complementarity of their projects and tools at the service of artists and populations.
The combination of their experience, their strengths and their means, the decision to jointly develop an artistic and cultural project, which will translate into a contract of objectives and means, even better able to meet the needs of the territory, amplifies the capacities of support to the artists, multiplies and diversifies the proposals made to the public in a will to reach the greatest number, irrigating the whole agglomeration.
The multidisciplinary project of the Union Châteauvallon-Liberté - which brings together live entertainment, cinema, audiovisual and digital arts -, carries the ambition to shine at the national, European and international level in support of artists, the creation and dissemination of their works, notably through a policy of residencies, in support of an exceptional architectural ensemble.
This labelling also recognizes the will of the partner local authorities: the Toulon Provence Mediterranean Agglomeration Community, the cities of Toulon and Ollioules, the Departmental Council of the Var, the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Regional Council, to develop an artistic and cultural hub that is consistent and dynamic at the urban and regional levels.
