Georgette Plana, the «Jolie fleur de Java» that came to us from Agen, left us at the age of 95, after a career as a successful singer. Former music-hall dancer, her vocal talent and stage presence had brought her to the stage of the Olympia and Boeuf on the roof, alongside Bourvil or Antoine.
She will have kept all her life her young-boy look and her cheeky voice so well tuned with these popular covers of tunes of the 1920s: these «Riquita» or «E Viva Espagna» who made her famous and continue to sing until today in our collective memory.
