Cannes Film Festival and as part of its Tour de France of Arts and Cultural Education, Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, went to meet a group of 35 first- and final-year students of the Lycée La Fourragère de Marseille participating in the «Lycéens et apprentis au cinéma» operation.

After attending the screening of «El verano de los peces voladores», a feature film by Marcela Said, selected for the Directors' Fortnight, the students had the opportunity to meet and discuss with the Chilean director. The students were welcomed on the beach of La Quinzaine by Edouard Waintrop, General Delegate of the Directors' Fortnight, in the presence of Isabelle Giordano, artist ambassador of artistic and cultural education and president of «Cinema for all».

This meeting, initiated by the Directors' Fortnight in partnership with the association Cinémas du Sud, was an opportunity for the students to discover the Cannes Film Festival, the Directors' Fortnight and its specificities as well as the work of the selection manager.

Through his exchanges with the students, the speakers and the organizers of this operation, Aurélie Filippetti wished to reaffirm his commitment to arts and cultural education, so that all young people have equitable access to art and culture throughout our territory.
