Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, welcomes the single rate of 4 euros for those under 14 years of age, which will come into force on January 1, 2014, in all theaters, every day and for all films, that has just been announced by the Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français (FNCF).

Youth being the priority of the French Government and the adolescent public being very eager to access culture in more accessible conditions and in particular to cinemas, the minister welcomes the initiative of democratization taken by the adherents of the FNCF.

The Minister thanks the exhibitors of the theatres for having designed this tariff offer, thanks to the decrease of the rate of VAT on the cinema ticket on 1 January 2014 desired by the Government and currently submitted to the vote of Parliamentarians, to benefit the public under the age of 14.

Through this commitment, the network of French cinemas will continue to help create social ties in our territories, and the cinematographic screening of works that we all want, diverse, original and demanding, to make us live, from an early age, often unforgettable emotions.
