Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, and Francis Chouat, President of the Evry Centre Essonne agglomeration community, Mayor of Evry, in full agreement with Jérôme Guedj, President of the Essonne General Council gave their approval to the unanimous proposal of the jury, which was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, to appoint Christophe Blandin-Estournet as director of the theatre of the Agora, national stage of Evry and Essonne.
At the age of 54, Christophe Blandin-Estournet is the founding director of the Festival Excentrique, in the Centre region, where he endeavoured to provoke meetings with audiences around original artistic events. He was previously Secretary General of ONDA, then responsible for the programming of circus, street and puppetry arts at the Public Establishment of the park and the Halle de la Villette.
Drawing on this experience of project management, he proposes for Evry, its agglomeration and Essonne, a multidisciplinary program open to the territory, addressing all audiences in their diversity. It intends to rely on sustainable artistic companionships to foster processes of participation and interaction with the inhabitants.
