Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau passed away on 18 May at the age of 86.

Legendary baritone, he had imposed himself, beyond the considerations of
genre, style or repertoire, as one of the greatest artists
twentieth century lyrics, recognizable by the beauty of its
timbre, the quality of his phrasing, the astonishing precision of his diction.
If he shone in interpreting Mahler, Brahms, Wolf, but also the
repertoire of the 20th century, its name will remain linked above all to that of
Schubert. His recording of the complete lieder remains today
yet another reference for all artists who want in their turn
to approach this universe of poetry so profound and so nuanced.
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau was also a born educator who
wonderfully show his disciples the way that allows to touch
with the same movement of heart and mind.
