The Ministry of Solidarity and Health and the Ministry of Culture organized the first national meeting of the artistic and cultural awakening of young children, December 8, 2017 at the Boris Vian Auditorium of the public establishment of the park and the Villette hall.
This event brought together actors and networks working for the artistic and cultural awakening of young children: State, communities, artists, professionals of culture, early childhood, education, youth and members of civil society, in order to exchange on the major issues of the sector and inspiring practices.
This national meeting of the artistic and cultural awakening of young children:
- has a specific objective: reaffirm that art, culture and intercultural exchanges help children build their place in a world they discovere. This ambition is one of the ten main principles laid down by the National Charter for the Reception of Young Children, developed by the Ministry of Family and Children.
- marks the first step in the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Artistic and Cultural Awakening of the Young Child signed on March 20, 2017, by the Ministries in charge of Early Childhood and Culture.
As stated in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, to promote the full participation of the child in cultural and artistic life, to encourage the organization, for his benefit, of appropriate means of leisure and recreational, artistic and cultural activities, in conditions of equality is paramount. This right could not be respected without everyone’s commitment.
Specialists in the humanities, institutional partners and stakeholders have highlighted the richness of their partnerships, as well as the positive results of these projects for children and their families.
