Françoise Nyssen, Minister of Culture, has approved the appointment of Bruno Alvergnat and Pierre Duforeau as directors of the Centre national des arts de la rue et de l'espace public (CNAREP) in Chalon-sur-Saône L'Abattoir/ Chalon in the street.
In agreement with the City of Chalon-sur-Saône, the Grand Chalon, the Department of Saône-et-Loire, the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region and the Ministry of Culture, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Régie Autonome Personnalisée will appoint the new Board of Directors to be appointed by the City Council on the proposal of the Mayor of Chalon-sur-Saône.
Bruno Alvergnat is currently the director of the La Péniche Contemporary Music Association and Pierre Duforeau is the artistic co-director of the national and international arts company KomplexKarphanaüm, which is undergoing a major development.
Together, they propose for the CNAREP a project that combines renewal of aesthetics, artistic hybridization and contextual approaches with the aim of a greater opening of the site to local life. Their project also aims to increase the visibility of the event «Chalon dans la rue», a flagship event of artistic expression in the public space.
Bruno Alvergnat and Pierre Duforeau will succeed Pedro Garcia, to whom the Minister wishes to pay tribute for his action in favour of artistic and cultural life at regional and national level in favour of street arts and public space.
