Audrey Azoulay, Minister of Culture and Communication and Dominique Gros, Mayor of Metz, in full agreement with the President of the Alsace region Champagne-Ardenne Lorraine, have given their approval to the proposal of the jury to appoint Claire Guillemain to the joint general direction of the National Orchestra of Lorraine, mixed union, and Metz en Scènes, public institution of cultural cooperation (EPCC).
This joint union produces about 70 events a year in Metz (concerts and creations), in the regions and internationally. For its part, the EPCC Metz en Scènes organizes 450 events (scholarly music, contemporary music and dance mainly) by animating three sites: the Arsenal, the Trinitaires and the Boîte à musiques. The process of rapprochement between these two structures aims at the emergence of a musical city in Metz.
Within this framework, Claire Guillemain’s artistic and cultural project is part of a civic and intergenerational approach. With the intention of developing audiences and cultural activities, he drew an ambitious city, reinforcing the musical diversity and the place of dance in an artistic vision coordinated between disciplines. It places at the heart of the City the artists, the creators and in the first place the musicians of the National Orchestra of Lorraine.
Claire Guillemain was the executive director of the musical ensemble, The Simphonie du Marais (Hugo Reyne management) before becoming general delegate of the PROFEDIM union since 2009. She is also President of the Federation of Companies of Live Entertainment, Music, Audiovisual and Cinema (FESAC) which brings together 32 professional organizations in 9 conventional fields of live and recorded performance.
