Fleur Pellerin, Minister of Culture and Communication, has approved the appointment of Yveline Rapeau to the management of the public institution of cultural cooperation (EPCC) Cirque-Théâtre d'Elbeuf, national center of circus arts of Haute-VienneNormandy by the Board of Directors of 17 September 2015. This choice was proposed unanimously by the jury chaired by Djoudé Mérabet, mayor of Elbeuf, president of the board of directors of the EPCC and composed of all the public partners of the establishment: the Rouen Normandy Metropolis, the Eure Department, the Region Haute-Normandie and the State, as well as a qualified personality.

Yveline Rapeau will continue as director of La Brèche, Pôle national des arts du cirque de Basse-Normandie. While preserving the uniqueness of each establishment, Yveline Rapeau’s project configures a common production and distribution platform, able to meet the ambitions of the enlarged territory of the new region, Normandy, and its strengths, metropolitan and departmental.

This project will notably allow the Spring event initiated by La Brèche to extend to the entire territory. Partnerships with artistic and cultural institutions present in the territory will consolidate this action. The strength of the creations, the richness of the proposals addressed to the public will be multiplied within the framework of a new rhythm of season.

This new configuration is an asset to support the strong development of the creative circus in the richness of its approaches and the breadth of its expectations. Respect for the diversity of circassian techniques and expressions, to which the Ministry of Culture and Communication attaches great importance, for the whole network of national centers of circus arts (PNAC) as for any labeled network, will ensure the success of this project.

Fleur Pellerin would like to pay tribute to Roger Le Roux who carried out the development of the Elbeuf Cirque-Théâtre in a remarkable way during his nine years at the helm of the establishment.
