The Goncourt Prize has just been awarded to Lydie Salvayre for “Pas pleurer”, published by Le Seuil.

It is the ultimate consecration for this talented novelist, daughter of Spanish republicans exiled in France, who pays tribute to one of the greatest voices of French literature of the 20th century, Georges Bernanos, through the story of the civil war in Spain. I am delighted to see the history of our two countries and the fruitful dialogue of our languages honoured.

I offer my sincere congratulations to the author and his publisher.
