The French Language and La Francophonie Week, a meeting place for lovers of words in France, offers the general public the opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of a language spoken on five continents. It is organized around March 20, International Day of La Francophonie.

This new edition of the French Language and La Francophonie WeekIn 2015, the 20th anniversary of which will be celebrated, illustrates the capacity of our language, which has never ceased to integrate words from other horizons into its lexicon. Coming from elsewhere, they have become from here. From Arabic to German, from Italian to Flemish, French has always drawn from different sources. The fruitfulness of these exchanges has given our language some of its accents and originality. This phenomenon has not changed in recent times, even if the most massive loans have been made in recent decades from English.

The faculty of French to recharge its batteries is a sign of its vitality and a guarantee for its future.

As every year, a very large number of events will take place in more than 70 countries around the world and especially in France: exhibitions, writing workshops, animations, shows, competitions, dictations, slam evenings, etc. So many invitations to travel offered by schools, libraries, bookstores, museums, organizations fighting against illiteracy, monuments, companies...
