The Minister of Culture and Communication, Aurélie Filippetti, takes note of the judgment in the form of the interim measures of the Tribunal de Grande Instance of Paris of 28 November 2013 in the case concerning the websites allostreaming.com, alloshowtv.com, alloshare.com and allomovies.com. This court decision shows that there are solutions to illicit sites offering pirated content en masse, which undermine the cinema economy like other cultural sectors.
While respecting freedom of expression and communication, obligations may be imposed on internet service providers and search engines in order to prevent the appearance of results referring to the pages of illicit sites, and thus help them to fight copyright piracy.
The Minister wishes to recall that she entrusted to Mrs Mireille Imbert-Quaretta, following the report of Pierre Lescure on "Act 2 of the cultural exception", a mission on the fight against commercial counterfeiting, whose objective is to propose concrete and effective tools, in particular, to involve all the actors concerned. The conclusions of this mission are expected in early 2014.
These tools to combat sites offering pirated content, involving intermediaries, will complement the indispensable action of the graduated response focused on peer-to-peer exchanges.
