On the proposal of Aurélie Filippetti, Minister of Culture and Communication, Vincent Berjot was appointed in Council of Ministers on 24 October 2012 Director General of Heritage at the Ministry of Culture and Communication.

Born in 1967, Vincent Berjot is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (rue d'Ulm), a social science fellow with a DEA in economics (University of Paris I-Panthéon Sorbonne) and a statistician economist (École Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Économique ENSAE).

After starting his career in 1994 in the office of the Prefect of Ile-de-France, Vincent Berjot joined the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry in 1997 where he held from 2008 to 2010 the functions of Head of Department, Assistant to the Director of Budget.

He was, since 2011, Director of Finance of the Paris City Hall.

He succeeds Philippe Bélaval, appointed President of the National Monuments Centre.
