You can contact the Architecture, Town Planning and Environment Council (CAUE) of your department.
CAUE are associations with a public interest mission, responsible for promoting the quality of architecture, urban planning and the environment. They can help you build a quality project: professionals (architects, landscapers, urban planners, environmental specialists, etc.) keep free offices to advise you on your project.
… Know if my project complies with local regulations
The town planning department of your municipality can inform you about the conformity of your project to the planning documents (local planning plan for example).
… Ensure the heritage quality of my project
You can consult theDepartmental Architecture and Heritage Unit (UDAP) in your department, in the regional cultural affairs directorate.
An architect of the Bâtiments de France or one of his collaborators (engineer or technician) will study your project with regard to heritage issues. This public service consultation is a free support to help you understand and improve your project of work in protected site.
The official filing in town hall of an application for authorization of urbanism remains indispensable. The prior consultation of the UDAP can nevertheless facilitate later the management of the file filed in town hall.
Please note: if you have used an architect, make an appointment with the departmental unit of architecture and heritage.
You will be asked to specify:
- the location of the project
- the details of the project
- photographs of the land/existing buildings and the environment
- graphic documents illustrating the insertion of the project (if possible)
