The General Delegation for the French Language and the Languages of France (DGLFLF) is responsible for animating and coordinating the language policy of the State, guiding it in a direction favourable to maintaining social cohesion and taking into account the diversity of our society.
An interdepartmental service attached to the Ministry of Culture, the DGLFLF mobilizes for its action a set of partners, public or private, involved in the promotion of French and linguistic diversity. In addition, it fosters a constant dialogue with elected officials to conduct a language policy closer to the territories. At the international level, the DGLFLF operates in French and European cooperation networks, as well as in bilateral arrangements, with a view to exchanging best practices and expertise on language policies.
The General Delegation supports the implementation of projects that contribute to strengthening the impact of its policy in society. These supports have an essentially incentive role.
