Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, salutes the memory of Henri Tisot, a great popular figure of satirecontemporaine.

Henri Tisot, great popular figure who has distinguished himself for fifty years
in political satire, had also followed an unusual career in theatre at the
television but also in cinema. Brilliant imitator of General de Gaulle, his
model inhabited it so much throughout his life that he claimed
almost the inheritance.

His singular destiny led him to the stage alongside Jean Meyer,
Louis Seigner, Georges Descrières, Robert Lamoureux and on screen with
Brigitte Bardot or Marc Allégret.

His truculence, which did not hide the bite of his impertinence, his
authenticity, generosity, audacity and humility have
marked the satire of contemporary entertainers.
