Tribute to Abu Salem

I learn with deep sadness the disappearance, under conditions
by François Abou Salem.

It is a cruel loss for the homeland he claimed with energy
and a fierce pride: Palestine. Especially for the theater in
Palestine, which loses a great artistic director and founder, in Jerusalem-
East, Palestinian National Theatre.

Thanks to his great culture and sensitivity, this Franco-Palestinian
as comfortable in theatre as in cinema and opera, as brilliant actor,
author, director, has brought much to the Palestinian public and
on the international stage.

As his last play indicates so well, «My brother the martyr», and alas
the personal outcome he has chosen, he will have never stopped defending,
with truly admirable courage, the difficult language of truth and
peace.
