The Comédie-Française lost one of its residents. When he was welcomed into the House of Molière, Roger Mollien already had a long and particularly rich career behind him.
Before becoming a figure of this illustrious house, he was above all one of the most significant actors of the great adventure of the T.N.P. of Jean Vilar. Actor or director, he had the constant concern to reveal all the modernity of the classics. For him, the great authors were all our contemporaries: Roger Mollien wanted to serve them, not to use them.
He lived his profession, as a mission, that of giving the most numerous audiences the best, the highest and the deepest.
