The Ministry of Culture and Communication announces that the 8th European Night of Museums will take place on Saturday 19 May 2012 and will once again allow visitors to appropriate the museums and to (re)discover them until late at night, through the exceptional exhibitions and events organized for the occasion.

In 2011, 3,700 cultural institutions in 37 European countries
associated with the 7th Night of Museums. In France, 1,276 organizations had opened
their doors, welcoming an increasing number of people and
now accustomed to this unique event.

The European Night of Museums is organized by the Ministry of Culture and
of Communication. It is placed under the triple patronage of the
Europe, UNESCO and ICOM, with the financial support of
Neuflize OBC and Neuflize Vie (for the realization of the national visual) and
institutional support of the French Federation of Societies of Friends of
museums and the Meeting of National Museums - Grand Palace.

Already on the program!
More than 700 museums in France and Europe have already prepared their animations
for the Night: thematic evenings, exhibitions, concerts, shows, tours, etc.
