On the proposal of Emmanuel Triby, president of the association of ThéâtreJeune public and in agreement with Roland Ries, mayor of Strasbourg, Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, anointed Renaud Herbin, Puppeteer, director of the Théâtre JeunePublic – Centre dramatique national de Strasbourg.

Aged 37, graduated from the École supérieure nationale des Arts de la
Puppet of Charleville-Mézières, winner of the Villa Medici outside the
with Julika Mayeren in 1999, he founded the LàOù company. This
company has created many shows where puppets mingle,
actors, dancers and images with the contribution of video. It is strongly
involved in the transmission of his art and works with schools
and universities.

His project for the Théâtre Jeune Public carries a strong ambition
and a vision for the future of puppetry through
multidisciplinary approach, with an international focus, in
particular Germany and in the central place given to artists in the
life of the theatre. He wishes to forge close links with the
local and regional cultural.

Renaud Herbin will succeed Grégoire Cailles on 1 January 2012.
