Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication after the 12th edition of the spring of poets on the theme «Couleurfemme» ( 8 - 21 March 2010) during a press conference held Tuesday, February 9 at the ministry.

The Spring of Poets 2010 will take place on March 8, Women’s Day,
March 21, World Poetry Day. Between these two dates, honor
poets under the sign of feminine genius. This year, in
the event chose the theme “Couleur femme” to “attract
attention to a part of the repertoire, classic and contemporary, often
misjudged, often misunderstood: poetry written by women.”
In the presence of Jean-Pierre Siméon, artistic director, Dominique
White, patron of the demonstration, and Matthieu Chedid, president of the
Jury of the competition, the Minister presented the two flagship actions that
will punctuate this 2010 edition:
"The Great Day of the Poem to the Other", Friday, March 12, 2010 where
everyone will be encouraged to share poetry, by all means to his
Layout: letters, leaflets, maps, posters… For this purpose, it will be possible
download royalty-free texts from many poets on
www.printempsdespoetes.com.
The second edition of the "Andrée Chedid Song Contest"
will invite participants to compose a song. The jury, chaired by
Matthieu Chedid, will choose a winner, whose song will be broadcast
on an antenna of Radio France at the time of the demonstration and
sung on the stage of the Three Baudets in Paris.
The Minister also recalled that the Ministry of Culture and
Communication, through the National Book Centre (CNL),
fully supports this event, which further carries the requirement of the
“culture pour chacun” including the Spring of Poets – and Poets –
is a living symbol.
