Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, and Jean Rottner, Mayor of Mulhouse, have given their approval to the appointment of Monica Guillouët-Gélys as director of La Filature, Mulhouse’s national stage.

After having been director of the Auxerre stage, Monica
Guillouët-Gélys took over the direction of the Théâtre de l'Agora, stage in 2006
Evry and Essonne. She will join Mulhouse at the head of a
equipment for the performing arts, at the gates of Switzerland and
Germany.

For the Filature, Monica Guillouët-Gélys proposes to strengthen the links between
the national stage and the Rhine National Opera, the
Mulhouse and the Rhine Ballet - National Choreographic Centre, while
developing a multidisciplinary, ambitious and open entertainment offering
living to the digital arts.

To bring this ambition to the European and international level, the project
by Monica Guillouët-Gélys places artists and contemporary
heart of the Spinning Mill, including a platform of the young
cross-disciplinary European creation and an annual focus on the cultures of the
South.
