Luc Chatel, Minister of National Education, Youth and Community Life, and Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, announce the extension for three years of free access to national museums and monuments for teachers.

This measure, launched in 2009, allows all teachers working in the 1st and 2nd degree (public and private under contract) to have free access to the permanent collections of more than 150 national museums and monuments.
A new "education pass" card will be distributed to teachers by school principals and school heads in January 2012.
This new "education pass" will be valid for the period 2012-2015. It will replace the one released in April 2009.
Free teachers in museums is a major aspect of the Government’s commitment to bringing the School and Culture closer together.
Thanks to this measure, national museums have recorded a 30% increase in teacher attendance since its launch in 2009.
