Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, will visit Reims on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 to launch the first edition of Slam Day on the occasion of the Semaine de la langue française et de la Francophonie. He will be accompanied by slammer Ami Karim.

The Minister will participate at 3 pm, at the media library Jean Falala, at a
slam workshop led by the Slam Tribu collective before attending a
regional meeting within the framework of the dynamic “Living together
Semaine de la langue française et de la Francophonie”.

This meeting is the culmination of work in the region
Champagne-Ardennes of the operation The caravan of the ten words* presents
in some thirty countries and in eight regions of France.
Slam is a form of oratory where the French language is explored
as a creator of social bond, offering sharing, exchange, equality and
friendliness around the pleasure of words.

This meeting will bring together all the participants who will present the
creations made in artistic workshops: slam, poetry, songs,
reading, theatrical expressions.

* The Ten Words caravan is organized as part of the dynamic
Plan Espoir Banlieues neighbourhoods of the General Delegation in
the French language and the languages of France «Living together the Week
of the French Language and La Francophonie”.
