The jury meeting in February 2009 had selected five project management teams from 82 applications: Architectures Adelfo Scaranello (Besançon), BernardDesmoulin architecte (Paris), Cabinet Bodin & associés (Jean-François Bodin,Paris), Frenak & Jullien Architectes (Catherine Frenak and Béatrice Jullien, Paris),Studio Milou Architecture (Jean-François Milou, Paris).

The Cabinet Bodin & Associés is the Ministry of Culture and
Communication has just designated as prime contractor for the first phase
Modernization and development of the Picasso Museum.
The areas to be redeveloped, of the order of 3000 square meters useful, include
spaces, spaces related to educational activities and
and exhibition halls.
This project will allow important work to upgrade to technical and
and restructuring of existing spaces.
The estimated cost of this first phase is 20 million Euros
project management mandate is entrusted to EMOC (Public Institution of
project management of cultural works).
The operation will close the Picasso Museum on August 23 and
the relocation of its collections. A scientific study site,
restoration and digitization of the museum’s funds will be conducted
during this closing period and will be accompanied by a loan freeze. In
parallel, innovative educational and cultural actions outside the walls will be
proposed.
Work will begin in early 2010 for a duration of 24 months.
