The purpose of this award is to recognize excellence in
for the benefit of persons with disabilities regardless of their
disability (motor, visual, auditory or mental). It rewards accessibility
the built environment, innovative achievements allowing access and use for the most
many, mediation tools promoting the autonomy of people in
disability situation and taking into account the diversity of the public in the offer
cultural.
For this first edition, the jury composed of representatives of the administration and
members of associations representing persons with disabilities
meeting on 14 September and decided to reward two institutions
heritage:
- Castle Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Centre
from Sainte-Suzanne to Mayenne
- the Museum of Saint Jean d'Angély in Charente-Maritime.
This award is accompanied by an endowment of €25,000 each
of the winners.
The jury congratulated all the candidates for the quality of the documents which
The General Council of Seine and Marne
for its proactive policy of welcoming audiences, implemented by the network
of the five departmental museums.
The jury also congratulates the Musée du Quai Branly for the quality of the
dialogue it has been able to implement with associations of people
disabled.
The Winners:
The Architecture and Heritage Interpretation Centre of the Castle of
Saint-Suzanne:
presents to all audiences a wide range of tailored tools and
discovery of the Mayenne heritage and the wealth of the country’s territory
Coëvrons-Mayenne. Models, sensory approaches,
adapted circulations, etc. are offered to the public in the heart of one of the
most beautiful historical sites of the department of Mayenne. In October
this remarkable initiative was rewarded with the award of the four
labels (motor, visual, auditory and mental) from the association «Tourisme &
Disability.”
The Saint-Jean-d'Angély Museum
opened in 2003 in a completely renovated 19th century building, in the heart of
of a territory that includes 117 municipalities
mediation adapted to people with disabilities without
stigmatize.
It developed in collaboration with the medical and social institutes of the
adapted visit aids. As part of the exhibition «Roman
The Museum has diversified its approach to the
scientific content by making a sensory journey that took into account the
expectations of professionals with mental disabilities.
