In 2010, with a total of 2.921 billion euros, the budget of the Mission Culture reflects an important effort of the State in favor of cultural policies since it will increase, forward, by 3.9% compared to the initial finance law for 2009 (€2.810 billion excluding the parliamentary reserve and including extra-budgetary resources). By not taking into account the €35m of extra-budgetary resources obtained in 2009 in the budget base, the increase is 5.2% before transfers and 5.1% after transfers. As a reminder, the budgets for 2008 and 2009 increased by 0.5% and 2.6% respectively.

This budget notably shows the will to bring the needs of heritage into line
and the budget allocated to it: 400 million euros including

legal offer and new sources of funding for creation: following
the final adoption by Parliament of the second bill to combat piracy
works on the Internet, on September 22, the High Authority for the
works and the protection of rights on the Internet (HADOPI) should be able to send from January
2010 its first emails warning users who download illegally.
