In agreement with local authorities, Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, announces the appointment of Ivan Cavallari as director of the Centre chorégraphique national - Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin (CCN-BONR).

Italian choreographer and performer, trained at the Teatro alla Scala ballet school in Milan (Italy), Ivan Cavallari danced at the Stuttgart Ballet (Germany) from 1986 to 2000 for the choreographers Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Uwe Scholz, John Cranko.
After working as an independent artistic collaborator for many international companies, such as the Czech National Ballet (Czech Republic), the Royal Ballet in London (United Kingdom), or the Staatsoper in Vienna (Austria)Since 2007, he has directed the West Australian Ballet in Perth.
His career is anchored in the classical and neo-classical dances he has performed at length as a star dancer.
Mr. Cavallari’s project for the Centre chorégraphique national - Ballet de l'Opéra national du Rhin will focus on the development of creation and repertoire in classical and neo-classical dance, with an opening to contemporary writing.
Ivan Cavallari will succeed Bertrand d'At as director of the CCN-BONR and will take up his duties as of 1 January 2013 at the end of his engagements with the West Australian Ballet.
