Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, entrusts a study mission on the financing of live performance to three personalities, The aim will be to support the development of the sector to better ensure support for independent companies and ensembles, to strengthen the artistic margins of institutions and to disseminate creations more widely.

Jean-Louis Martinelli, Director of the Nanterre-Amandiers Theatre, National Drama Centre, Adrien-Hervé Metzger, Senior Advisor at the Court of Auditors and Bernard Murat, Director of Theatre Edouard VII will evaluate the development of new resources for live entertainment to supplement the budgetary appropriations that the State devotes to this sector.

After an analysis of the needs, they will propose scenarios of possible developments and will study the methods of perception and distribution of the new sources of funding they have identified.

The findings of this mission and the resulting proposals are due to the Minister in October 2011.
