Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, and SergeLepeltier, Mayor of Bourges, in agreement with the Regional Council of the Centre and the General Council of Cher, gave their approval to the unanimous proposal of Olivier Atlan to the management of the Maison de la Culture de Bourges, at the jury meeting held on 30 April 2011.
An architect and musician by training, Olivier Atlan held key positions in the
Tarbes, Chambéry and Quimper national stage management teams, but
also with artists, as at the National Drama Centre in Bethune,
for a few more weeks, the deputy director.
For Bourges, his resolutely multidisciplinary project aims to make room
important to music and dance, develop series of performances in
specifically for theatre, increasing the territorial reach of the national stage
based in particular on a privileged association with the artists Philippe
Jamet and Frédéric Constant, multiplying artistic partnerships on a scale
regional, national and European, renew and expand the public of the Maison de la
Culture by going to meet him on the occasion of two seasons outside the walls.
With the large architectural renovation project that opens for this house
emblematic of cultural decentralization, it is all its meaning and its project that
are thus put into perspective.
