Frédéric Mitterrand, Minister of Culture and Communication, and Jean-Louis Fousseret, Mayor of Besançon, in agreement with the Franche-Comté Regional Council, gave their approval to the proposal of the jury, convened on 27 June 2011, to appoint Anne Tanguy as director of the Théâtre de l'Espace, Besançon’s national stage.

After having been general secretary of the national scene of Alençon-
In 2006, Anne Tanguy, Flers-Mortagne, became director of the Théâtre
of Auxerre, stage conventionnée. She will join Besançon in September
to succeed Daniel Boucon, whose remarkable
head of a team particularly invested, will have permanently marked the
bisontine settlement area.

Anne Tanguy will have to carry out quickly the rapprochement of the
Besançon Musical Theatre desired by the
city and all its public partners. It will also
ensure the development of collaborations and partnerships with
other bison structures working in the field of entertainment
living.

This determined project will therefore build on the legacy of the
Space and the renewal of the Théâtre musical de Besançon in order to
to constitute a major centre of creation and dissemination with a priority focus on
on music, dance and circus.

To carry this ambition, Anne Tanguy’s project, popular and
is based on four main axes: to disseminate creative
and transmit the works of the repertoire; develop a
multidisciplinary production hub in intelligence with the Centre
national drama; conducting arts education and action
culture at the heart of the population and place artists at the centre of the
life of the stage by associating artists of musical theatre like
Sandrine Anglade, dance like Nathalie Pernette and
the orchestra of Besançon Montbéliard Franche-Comté and its conductor Jean-
Francois Verdier.
